Select, tap, listen

Select text anywhere on your Mac, tap the right Option key on its own, and Chippy reads it back with the word it is speaking lit.

Your weekly free listening

Chippy gives you free listening every week, it counts the minutes you actually hear rather than the time you had it open, and it counts them per account.

When nothing speaks

Silence has a few different causes, and what the panel does tells you which one you have before you change anything.

Changing the voice

Twenty-eight voices in Settings, four samples each to compare them by, and the one you pick speaks from the next read on.

How history works

Every read is kept on your Mac, the same passage in the same voice is never spoken twice, and Regenerate says it again when you want it.

Send feedback

One press in the panel sends a note with the recording you were on, and a report that cannot go yet is kept until it can.

Chippy in Gmail

Select the part of a mail you want to hear and tap the right Option key; Chippy copies the selection the way Command C does, so it works in any browser.

Chippy with Claude Code and Codex

Select what a coding agent wrote in the terminal and tap the right Option key; what you select is spoken as written, code and all.
